Hotel Procurator 7

Split

The design Hotel Procurator 7 is situated in east wing of the Prokurative, famous Mediterranean Square, built from the middle of the nineteenth century up until the twenties of the twentieth century.

The construction of the square had been initiated by the famous Mayor Bajamonti known for his vision of Split as “città del avvenire” – the city of the future.

The Hotel is located in a former apartment from the belle epoque period and the entire interior is inspired by the glorious history of Prokurative.

From the comfortable lounge with reception one can enter the central impressive hall which leads to six bedrooms. Two of them have direct views of the Square and the other four rooms provide a view of Marmontova Street and famous promenade of Split, called Riva. The staircase leads to one more room, situated in the attic. Further up, one can enjoy the hotel roof terrace, featuring the most spectacular view of the city.

From seven units, three are suites and four are double rooms. Each of them tells a different story of the Prokurative square. Some are dealing with the large fountain in the vicinity, now unfortunately gone. Some deal with Marshal Marmont, civil governor of Dalmatia in the XlX.century, when Dalmatia was part of the First French Empire. And some are connected with the statue of Luka Botić, which was transferred to Marjan hill.

Best materials were used for arrangement of these rooms, including carrara marble, French wall coverings, German textile, Dutch and Italian classic furniture. Built-in furniture has been made in accordance with design by Kaliterna architecture studio. Special attention has been dedicated to saving antique joinery that was completely renovated and restored to its Art Nouveau originals.
