Hotel de la Ville, today Hotel Korčula, is the first town hotel built in 1912., more than hundred years ago, which makes it a living monument of tourist tradition in Korčula. From that time on it has always been considered as the heart of Korčula tourist facilities Hotel itself, built of ancient stone, resembles a very large Venetian style villa, especially when exterior is considered. Spacious terrace with 150 seats offers a unique view of the Adriatic Sea, while ships passing between Pelješac peninsula and Korcula Island only add to the scenery. Hotel Korcula was fortunate to be visited by numerous famous guests such as King Edward Vlll and Wallis Simpson, Sir Fitzroy Maclean, Jacqueline Kennedy Onasis, Josip Broz Tito and english writter Rebecca West. In her major work Black Lamb and Grey Falcon she described Hotel as a Venetian palace. New and fresh redesign by Kaliterna arhitektura will give a perspective future to an Old Lady. The Hotel will have sixteen rooms and eight suites.
